Teen Tech Bootcamp
Help your teen stay safe and smart online
A live online bootcamp that teaches teens how to protect themselves, think critically and use modern tools like AI ethically for schoolwork
Why this bootcamp matters
The internet does not forget
The online world is powerful — this bootcamp helps them navigate it safely, confidently and wisely.
Teens share photos, stories and jokes without realising how much they reveal. A single picture can give away where they live, which school they attend and when they are usually at home. Add social media and powerful new tools like AI into the mix and the risks climb quickly
This bootcamp gives teens clear, practical skills so they can enjoy the online world while staying safer, more thoughtful and more confident
Your teen will learn how to:
See how much information a simple photo can leak about them
Share online without oversharing personal details
Use social media with intention instead of pressure
Use AI to study and plan schoolwork without crossing ethical lines or cheating
Trusted by parents who want their teens to be safer, smarter and more confident online.
What your teen will learn
Inside the Teen Tech Bootcamp
Session 1: The hidden clues inside every photo
How people can work out where you are from one photo
How backgrounds, uniforms, reflections and street signs give away location
Simple explanation of metadata in normal language
Group exercise where teens try to locate example photos then learn how to reduce those clues in their own photos
Safer ways to share photos while still having fun
Session 2: Social media that does not backfire later
What really happens when you post, like and share
How old posts and screenshots can resurface years later
What should stay private versus what is safer to share
How recommendation feeds pull you in and how to take back control
Exercise with a fake teen profile where they fix risky posts and settings
Session 3: Using AI for school the right way
What AI can and cannot do for homework and revision
The line between using AI as a tool and crossing into cheating
How to ask better questions so they learn faster, not lazier
Checking AI answers and spotting when the tool is making things up
Practical walk-through of using AI to summarise notes, plan a study session and explain tricky topics, then rewriting in their own words
Everything is explained in clear language with lots of examples. No school-style lecture, just real talk, guided exercises and space to ask questions

Who’s behind the bootcamp?
I’m Kim from Resonant Digital, with 30+ years in IT, AI training and youth tech education and long time IT professional. I work with adults, teens and companies to demystify technology so people can use it safely, confidently and creatively.
I’m also a single mom to a teenager and two ex-teenagers, so this bootcamp is designed with real teenagers in mind: no scare tactics, no boring lectures, just honest conversations, real examples and practical skills they can use immediately.
Based in Cape Town, working with families online across South Africa and beyond

-
A: No. Cameras are encouraged for connection, but never forced. Teens can participate in chat or by reacting if that feels safer, while still being gently invited to join in.
-
A: Not at all. We start with the basics and focus on using tools like AI as a helpful study aid, not something to fear.
-
A: No. It’s practical and example based. We focus on real situations teens face, using simple language and demos.
-
A: We keep it age appropriate, honest and respectful. The goal is to empower teens, not scare them.
-
A: The sessions are designed for teens, but we’re happy for a parent to be nearby, especially on day one, if that helps your teen feel comfortable.
